Quick fixes

Alerts not arriving? Check these first.

  • Notification permissions. WellAlert can only prompt you if notifications are allowed. Check Settings โ†’ Notifications โ†’ WellAlert and enable alerts, sounds, and banners.
  • Alarm support. Check-in alarms require iOS 26 or later and a supported physical device. On iOS 17 through iOS 25, use reminders instead.
  • AlarmKit authorization. On iOS 26+, allow AlarmKit when prompted. If authorization is denied or cannot be checked, WellAlert uses regular notifications and cloud safety backup for protected alarms.
  • Focus modes & Do Not Disturb. Add WellAlert to your allowed apps so notification-based reminders and fallback prompts can come through.
  • Contact acceptance. Contacts receive push and in-app alerts only after installing WellAlert and accepting your Care Circle request.
  • Safety Backup status. Confirm the alarm says Cloud Protected or the reminder says Safety Backed. Device-only check-ins never alert your Care Circle.
  • Run a test alert. The in-app test previews the alert experience and checks local notification setup without triggering a real escalation. Also confirm directly with your contacts that their notifications are enabled.

Receiving alerts you didn't ask for?

If someone sent you a Care Circle request that you do not want, decline it in the app. If you already accepted, remove the relationship in WellAlert or email support@wellalert.app for help. Include only the minimum information needed to identify the unwanted request.

In an emergency, don't wait for support. WellAlert alerts the people you choose; it does not contact emergency services. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number (such as 911) immediately.
