If a protected check-in passes without a response, WellAlert's server-side backup can notify your selected contacts even when your phone is offline. Delivery is not guaranteed, so keep another safety plan for critical situations.

Do my emergency contacts need the app?
Yes, for alerts to reach them. If a contact isn't on WellAlert yet, we email them an invite to join. Once they accept, they get push notifications and in-app alerts, plus your wellness status and location if you share it.
What happens if my phone dies before a check-in?
If cloud protection was armed successfully, the server-side backup can alert your contacts after the response window even if your phone is offline. Delivery still depends on network and notification conditions and is never guaranteed.
Does WellAlert call 911?
No. WellAlert alerts the people you choose. It is not a medical device and does not contact emergency services. In a life-threatening emergency, always call your local emergency number first.
Who can see my location?
Nobody, unless you turn location sharing on. It's off by default, and when enabled, only the contacts you select can see it. You can stop sharing at any time.
