Do my emergency contacts need the app?
No. Contacts receive email alerts even without WellAlert installed. If they do install it, they also get push notifications, in-app alerts, and — if you share it — your wellness status and location.
What happens if my phone dies before a check-in?
Escalation runs on our servers, not just your phone. If your check-in window passes without a response — even because your battery died — the alert to your contacts still goes out.
Does WellAlert call 911?
No. WellAlert alerts the people you choose — it is not a medical device and does not contact emergency services. In a life-threatening emergency, always call your local emergency number first.
Who can see my location?
Nobody, unless you turn location sharing on — it's off by default. When enabled, only the contacts you explicitly select can see it, and you can stop sharing at any time.
